These polycarbonate plastic lenses are impact-resistant but not unbreakable. Polycarbonate lenses are more impact-resistant than glass lenses. The impact resistance of polycarbonate lenses can be significantly reduced by pitting or scratching. Whenever possible, polycarbonate lenses should be used in place of glass lenses.
Polycarbonate lenses should be changed when pits or scratches reduce vision.
Warning: Gray, or green (anti-glare) polycarbonate lenses do not meet the tests for light transmittance according to ANSI Z87.1 2003 for absorptive and filter lenses. Do not use green or gray (anti-glare) polycarbonate lenses when performing torch, burning, torch cutting, torch welding, electric operations, or any other operations which expose your eyes to harmful levels of infrared and ultra-violet radiation.
Always check with safety or supervisory personnel to be sure you are being provided with adequate eye protection.
